Austral Phoenix believes that some of the most important members of our club are our junior members. Building good habits, teamwork and skills early will help develop strong and competitive players in the future. We have both Junior Boys and Junior Girls programs.

Players and parents enquiries are welcome and more information can be accessed from our Information Booklet

If you are a junior player or parent who is thinking of joining our club, Austral looks forward to seeing you at the 2016 Winter Junior Trials.

If you are unable to make the trials or would like further information, please contact the Junior Development Manager, Alex Dobo, at juniors@australvolleyball.org.au. By arrangement, players who miss trials may be able to trial in a training over the following weeks

2018 Winter Junior Trials

Each year, once current Junior player numbers are established, Austral offers vacant places to new club members. This allows a planned approach to coaching and team structures. This year, Junior trials will be held on Tuesday 6 February 2018 at Cosgrove Hall for any primary and secondary school aged players who are interested in joining our club. All skill levels are welcome.

Previous experience in volleyball is not required as we are there to teach and help players improve. The signup practice night times are as follows;

5:30pm -6:30am U14  Boys and Girls (Born 2001 or later)

6:30pm -7:30pm U17 and U19 Boys and Girls (Born 1998-2002)

Junior League Competitions

Junior League competitions are held on Friday nights at various locations around Adelaide and are open to junior players with age groups defined as Under 15, Under 17 and Under 19. Within these age brackets there are divisional gradings to ensure that the competition remains safe, fun and challenging for all participants.

Nippy’s Austral Spikezone Competitions

Spikezone competitions are mini-volleyball competitions held after school between 4pm – 6pm for Primary School aged children. Modified rules and smaller courts allow players to build the foundation skills and confidence to progress to full volleyball capability. Learning is based around game play rather than training drills and the emphasis is on development through fun competition. Austral currently runs a competition at Westbourne Park Community Centre, Goodwood Rd, Westbourne Park, Fridays 4.00-5.30pm.

For more information about our Spikezone Competition, please contact the Junior Development Manager, or the Spikezone Coordinator Anne-Marie McAinsh (0402 206 667)
